Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer with expertise in Azure data services to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing our Azure-based data infrastructure. You will play a key role in migrating data from Azure Synapse to Databricks, while leveraging Azure Data Lake and Data Factory to support our evolving business needs. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Azure data services and a strong background in data engineering principles.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines using Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Lead the migration of data from Azure Synapse to Databricks, ensuring data integrity, performance, and scalability.
• Architect and implement data lake solutions on Azure to store and manage structured and unstructured data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Optimize and tune data pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior members of the team.
• Stay updated on the latest Azure data services and best practices, and evaluate new technologies to improve data infrastructure.
• Development experience in one or more languages (e.g. Python, SQL, Scala, C#, Java)
• Experience in the use of Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform)
• Engagement in data governance council to define, develop, and review standards, guidelines, and data models to promote data quality and best practices

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in data engineering with a focus on Azure data services.
• Hands-on experience with Azure data services including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics (formerly SQL Data Warehouse).
• Experience with migrating data between Azure Synapse and Databricks.
• Strong knowledge of Azure Data Lake Storage and Azure Blob Storage.
• Familiarity with data modeling, schema design, and optimization techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality data solutions in a cloud environment.
