We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with deep knowledge of Retail or Restaurant Systems, particularly Kitchen Management (KMS), Quick Service Restaurant, Kisok Order, or Point of Sale (POS), Self-Checkout (SCO) systems. This individual will play a critical role in bridging the gap between business operations and technical teams, ensuring the successful analysis, documentation, and deep requirements for delivery of a new Kitchen Management solutions in a C-Store environment that drive customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
You will work closely with principal consultants, engineering teams, and retail operations stakeholders to analyze current KMS workflows, gather and define requirements, and guide the implementation of a new kitchen management system.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and document business needs, pain points, and opportunities within KMS, QSR & Kisok environments.
- Lead the gathering, analysis, and documentation of business and functional requirements for system implementation, configuration, integration, and customizations.
- Conduct process mapping for current and future-state KMS operations, including ordering, queueing, kitchen orchestration, production management, and POS integrations.
- Translate business requirements into clear user stories, use cases, and functional specs for the engineering, QA and vendor teams.
- Facilitate requirement workshops, stakeholder interviews, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Maintain detailed documentation of workflows, system configurations, and change logs.
- Assist in creation of KPIs and metrics for post-implementation evaluation of the effectiveness of the new KMS/QSR system.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on kitchen and store technologies across multiple platforms and projects.
- Assist in risk analysis, change management, and stakeholder communication throughout project lifecycles.
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in a retail or kitchen technology or operations environment.
- Proven experience with KMS, QSR, POS, mPOS, or SCO systems (such as QSR Automations, PAR, NCR Aloha, TransAct BOHA, Oracle Simphony, etc.).
- Familiarity with kitchen processes such as kitchen orchestration, order routing, prep time optimization, and integration with POS, mobile apps, and delivery platforms.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Clear written documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language and vice versa.
- Comfortable working with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, engineering, store personnel as well as 3rd party vendors.
- Experience using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Excel, Lucidchart, or similar for tracking and documentation.
