Position Summary

We are seeking a Product Owner with deep expertise in Point of Sale (POS) and Loyalty systems to lead the development, enhancement, and implementation of scalable, customer-focused retail solutions. This role plays a pivotal part in modernizing the POS ecosystem, improving omni-channel customer engagement, and ensuring seamless technology integration to support rapid retail expansion. The Product Owner will guide the evaluation and rollout of future-ready POS solutions, work closely with business stakeholders, vendors, and technology teams, and ensure a smooth transition from legacy systems to modern platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Product Ownership

  • Own and maintain the vision, roadmap, and backlog for POS and Loyalty systems to support aggressive business growth and customer experience transformation
  • Lead product discovery and selection efforts for new POS platforms, balancing scalability, cost efficiency, and technical viability
  • Define MVPs and guide phased rollout strategies to minimize operational disruption during system migration
  • Collaborate with leadership to establish KPIs and prioritize features based on business value, operational efficiency, and customer experience impact

Agile Delivery and Lifecycle Management

  • Manage full product lifecycle across Agile and SDLC methodologies, from requirements gathering to go-live and support
  • Lead sprint planning, grooming, testing, and release activities with internal and external teams
  • Oversee vendor deliverables, RFIs/RFPs, contract terms, and implementation plans
  • Work closely with engineering, QA, and DevOps to ensure delivery of scalable, performant, and stable POS and Loyalty products

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the liaison between business process owners, IT, and external vendors to define functional and technical requirements
  • Guide the transition from legacy systems by identifying business-critical functionality and recommending phased deployments or MVPs
  • Act as point of contact during major outages or disruptions, coordinating triage and resolution with internal and vendor support teams

Continuous Improvement and Innovation

  • Monitor system performance and usage, performing regular audits and proposing optimizations
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies such as AI-enhanced retail tools and hardware integrations for store operations
  • Support staffing and training needs for new solutions through documentation, onboarding, and internal coaching

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a Product Owner or Technical Business Analyst role, preferably in retail technology
  • Demonstrated expertise in POS systems and customer loyalty platforms, including system evaluation and implementation
  • Strong understanding of omni-channel strategies, retail operations, and enterprise software lifecycle management
  • Experience working with vendors to manage RFPs, negotiate deliverables, and maintain accountability
  • Hands-on experience with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps
  • Strong documentation, communication, and leadership skills with an analytical mindset and customer-first approach

Preferred Experience

  • Background in large-scale retail operations with rapid expansion goals
  • Familiarity with vendor platforms such as NCR, Toshiba, GK, and other enterprise POS systems
  • Understanding of AI and emerging retail technologies, including integration with hardware and mobile platforms
  • Experience planning migrations and minimizing operational impact during system transitions
